 NEW OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY

From October 1st, we will be starting an outreach ‘consultation’ with the homeless centre ‘999 club Deptford’.  
The staff at the centre provide food, a laundry service and comfortable sitting areas as well as many other support services, but have been having difficulties with registering people with GPs and have asked for our help with conducting some outreach and also some ‘on the job’ training for their staff to eventually take over.
We need a support worker and a nurse for the following sessions:

  • 22nd October 1.45 – 4.30pm
  • 29th October 1.45 – 4.30pm
  • 5th November 1.45 – 4.30pm

 If you’re interested in any of the above positions, kindly forward your updated CV and cover letter to our HR Officer, Sonia Soldati at recruitment@medecinsdumonde.org.uk. In the cover letter, please address the following questions:

1) Why are you applying to volunteer for Project:London?

2) Can you describe any experience you had with the project’s targeted population (i.e. homeless, sex workers, children, migrants…) and how can you experience be an asset for Project:London?

3) Can you tell us in which of these areas you have knowledge and how will that contribute to the work of Project:London: immigration law, benefit procedures, team supervision, human resources, vehicle maintenance, social work, drug misuse, mental health, health promotion,public health, HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis, other.

4) Please state your availability in terms of duration and frequency you can volunteer.

5) Also mention whether you would be interested in volunteering as an office assistant or by attending events or fairs, or by campaigning and advocating as well fundraising for Medecins du Monde UK.

Successfully short listed candidates will be invited to an interview in due course.
